I think that depends on your final goal for the car. There both great kits. From members on the board seems that HRC has the edge on customer service and tech support. However, I do like the garrett turbo with the star kit much better. If you intend on rebuiding your bottom end and going for some serious boost I would personally choose the Star. The t3/t4 turbo will edge out the 16G in high boost situations, not to mention I like the external gate. However, the HRC kit can be upgraded to a 20G which would be a much better comparison of turbo's. I've also heard some of the guys say something about the star FMIC being pretty wimpy. But that's just my thoughts...

I heard from people that the stage II that comes with the FMIC from star is better then hahn's side mounted intercooler. What do you guys think? Is there more hp with the FMIC from star or is the hahn stage II side intercooler just the same?

Thanks Alot

I'd take HRC's sidemount over STAR's front mount any day. HRC's side mount is exactly the same as the sidemount IC upgrade they sell for the 4g63 powered cars. Have you ever seen a STAR FMIC? They're TINY and THIN.

Exetreme motorsports will upgrade you super 16G to a super 20G for like $450.00. Not bad if you ask me...

The Hahn StageII is 2895 and comes with a SMIC,but you can purchase the FMIC option for stage II for 400 totaling 3295....

now their Stage I kit is 2195 and suppossedly is the same as the stage II kit except intercooler, but they sell the StageII upgrade for the stage I which is the FMIC for 795 totaling 2990!!!!

Doesnt it make more sense to buy the Stage I kit and get the upgrade???

Let me know if I am off base here because I was number crunching the finances the other day and came accross this anomaly on the hahn site and thought,Shit I can save myself 300 bucks!!!
