You can't use the engine at all. Not the block. Not the head. Not the manifolds. You *could* use the 14b turbo and the side mount intercooler, but that's about the extent of it. If you can get the engine, turbo, and IC for under $200, then sure, why not? BUT, I highly doubt this is a path down which you want to continue.

If it's a 97 GST then it probably has a T25 on it, no? The engine swap has been proven time and time again to be more expensive/effort/time then it's worth, I owuld suggest that you avoid that at this point. The turbo would be a fine candidate so long as you don't have too many aspirations of high boost. If it were me and I could get everything dirt cheap, then I'd pull the engine and all, pressure wash it, and slap that bitch on ebay. That helps the community by keeping good parts in circulation, it helps you by getting some money in your pocket for turbo projects, and it gives you more time to search the site for information (HA! you almost got away without someone telling you to search)
