#95888, "Question about shipping Nitrous Bottles"

Hey, im posting this here because maybe one of you guys has experience with this...

Im selling my nitrous kit and i just have a question about shipping the bottle. Would I have to ship it seperately as a HazMat package, and would it be more expensive to ship it that way? Anyone, im gonna be looking at the UPS page, and other places to find out more info. I just figured maybe someone here knows about shipping nitrous. Thanks.

Matt

Check out my post at the FS/WTB forum for my nitrous Kit for Sale, lol.
$300 w/o jets, more info in the other post.

I could put... I could put... strychnine in the guacamole.

I've never done it, but I would think as long as the bottle is empty then you should be able to ship it normally, b/c there is nothing hazardous in it and is just like any other empty container

...and what if its filled with oxidizing nitrous that would feed the flame more than metallica's early works such as "Fight Fire With Fire?"

Didnt pay any attention in welding class did you? Ever notice the signs in a hospital regarding fire and oxygen bottles?

I have only shipped the bottle i had empty Matt. If the shipping company found out the bottle was full they would come back for you. If it doesnt sell local, empty it and ship it.

umm, thats oxygen, of course it's flamable, our cars or even fire wouldn't be possable with out it, but as for NO2, it's a unfamable gas untill it breaks down in side you cylinder when it's under high pressure and heat into 2 oxygen atoms and one nitrogen, which is how it allow you to burn more fuel, thanx to the extra oxygen inside your cylinder. but untill the no2 atom is brokendown it's non-flameable.
