#94890, "2GNT/SC: writers needed for power stages development"

The basic 2GNT Power Stages have been revised this year, but there is still a need for more information on other topics. We are looking for experienced members of the community to put together very simple articles about the following subjects:

*Power Stages | turbosystems
-Would feature a preface covering the basics of turbocharging a 2GNT (can it be done, is it safe, general rules of thumb) followed by information detailing the features and benefits of going with HRC or Star versus a custom DIY system. Finally, the ideal article would detail what is needed to piece together a DIY system.

*Power Stages | nitrous oxide system
-Would be written in the same context as turbosystems, above.

The purpose of these two articles is to give a visitor, who may have zero mechanical knowledge, a basic understanding of his or her options in either of these areas. Give them enough information to figure out if they are still interested in the idea of boosting or spraying their car and then offer basic, entry-level information on the subjects they may need to research further.

We want to format all these articles in a similar fashion, so they are easier to navigate and keep readers' attention (taken from Power Stages 3):

Adjustable Cam Gears
Cost | $150
Power | more gains when used with upgraded cams
Difficulty | 3
Cam gears allow you to advance/retard the timing of your intake and exhaust valves in the interest of making more power (by getting more air/fuel into the combustion chamber). Will require dyno tuning to see best results and can result in a nasty idle like an old muscle car.

I realize this might be a bit tricky, given a subject like "turbochager," but an exmaple could be:

Turbocharger
Cost | $200 - $2,000
Power | dependent on size, fuel delivery, and tuning ability
Difficulty | 3
Turbocharges use the force of exhaust gasses pasing a turbine to spin a compressor wheel, which forces more air into the combustion chamber. There are a number of factors to take into consideration before selecting a turbo such as size, placement, and use. The most important thing to consider prior to selecting a turbo is what goals you have for the car, as your goals will narrow the field of numerous turbo options considerably.

For someone who has been running a HRC/Star/DIY system for a while, this could be an easy write-up. Same thing goes for anyone who has the balls to spray one of these cars. Take your time, be thorough, and be consistent. All submissions are subject to editing, but we like to think it won't be very necessary. This could be a great way to give something back to the community and maybe even snag a bit of notoriety.

Author credit will be given.

Brian, as I'm sure you know I have run both nitrous and a turbo(not at the same time) on my car and would be more then happy to put the time into writing something up on either or both, if you deem me the best canidate. If not, I'll understand, I know many people have more experience then me.

The idea is: someone writes an article detailing the basics of turbocharging their 2GNT - stock bottom end limits, pros and cons of the main RTI kits, and DIY information. Then we host it on the home page with the other Power Stages where everyone can read it. emoji
