#93322, "Need a side pic of star exhaust manifold"

Okay so here's the deal. After much time, I am finally about to have my eclipse up and running. Unfortunately, in the fray, I have lost my STAR exhaust manifold. I have found someone to make me a new one to the exact specs, considering I haven't been able to find the individual component. All that is needed is a nice side pic of the manifold so that he can get the angle exactly right. Any help would be greatly appreciated, or if anyone has a manifold that they are not using, maybe we could strike up a deal. Thanks again...

Charlie.

What do you mean by side? I have one, but its on my car right now. Which side?

Why do you need it to be made to the exact specs? Sounds expensive, one piece cast iron manifold. You should just have him make you a custom one built to your needs. And if you do want one made specifically, I had problem with one of the bolts on the bottom of the manifold, the manifold was blocking it so I couldnt tighten it. Might want to have your fabricator fix that little problem.

I wish you a smooth break-in and happy driving.

He is looking for a picture so he can have a custom one made like a U-weld kit.

What he really wants is approx. angles and WG and Turbo Flange location.

There is nothing "exact" about it really.

I used to fab alot of stuff for offroad applications. If you want to use a certain DP, I wouldn't worry about what the kit one looks like. You're probably saving money, but inviting an ass-load headaches. Bolt the DP to your cat and get it as tight as possible. I'd also put the primary O2 in the DP too. Get a block of wood or something to simulate the position and height of the DP as if it was bolted to the turbo. Start filling the "void" by bolting the flange to the head. MAKE A LOG STYLE MANIFOLD. I say that b/c it sounds like you have never done this before. This way, you can position the turbo flange correctly to bolt both the turbo at whatever angle you need and so that it will meet your DP. I can take the pics for you still, but like I said, I don't think that it will help much.

I've pretty busy here lately, I'll try to get some tonight. My turbo and WG are both still on the manifold. Lemme know exactly what postition and everything you need before I go out into 20 degree weather and have a photo shoot.

alright. all i need is a straight on side pic. and also one of the front, and one of the back. all i need is for them to be looking dead on at the manifold. thanks for braving the weather to get me these pics.
