Doesnt look bad to me either, that intercooler is huge and $40 shipping is pretty good. I wonder if you can upgrade to an SFMU.

i thought their big thing was trying to make an inexpensive kit, this definately looks like an improvement but I would still like to see some dyno numbers

well, it certainly is a better step in the right direction. sort of...

one big thing wrong is the IC. regardless of how big that IC is, its not going to flow enough to justify the size. the way the inlet port and end tank are set up is about as counter-productive to good flow as you can get. there are some things that just shouldn't be attempted to be made "better" just so you can have a "unique" part to call your own. you can't make the wheel rounder...
majorly unefficient!

another issue is the turbo is still not in a good place on the manifold. those exhaust pulses are going to be turbulent as hell.
Fairly unefficeint!

and i cant tell but is there a flex section on that DP?

overall, a functional kit, yes. but its cetianly a FAR LESS efficient design than other kits for the 420a with comparable prices.

just think, in another year or so, they should be where everyone else was at 2 years ago.

Its the same manifold as the Star kits, it may not be the most efficient design but a lot of people have been using it sucessfully for years.

Looks better than the Hahn kit. The FMIC can probably be changed for a Precision FMIC, but other than that, looks like a good start.

definatly a great display of parts but in my opinion at 3 grand i dont want it to be a good start, i want it to be all i need. thats alot of money for a kit thats almost there. i agree they are headed in the right direction with this but price wise they are gonna loose it all back to the known turbo kits that are proven. i still feel hahn is the way to go especially now that they allow you to piece together your own kit and buy only what you need. thats just me

Those are all excellent parts. The only thing I don't like is the ic and ic piping. They're just straight pipes with couplers. It would have been better to have a bent pipe for the ic to tb pipe. Also I think the bov should be mounted closer to the tb. If it was a little cheaper, it would be something I'd buy, probably without the ic and pipes. But I can understand the price because those are all top quality parts from very good manufacturers. Garrett, tial, greddy, walbro, if you think about it, that's what we all swap out our parts for in these other kits anyway.

I just flipped back and forth between the pictures of the two kits and they're the same damn thing. Just look at the ic, the pipe with the bov flange on it, the mani, same turbo, same wastegate, even the couplers are the same color, lol. So I wonder who's copying who, or maybe it's a collaboration and they just didn't tell anybody.

edit: I emailed slowboy last night for some close up pics and they put them up on their site.

I hope soon, because I wouldn't mind using this kit... besides the IC and it's piping... that'd probably bring the price down, 'some'.
