today i got the first real chance to take my car out and was going to fine tune it for 10psi. the problem is, it wont go past 5psi. i installed the 10psi actuator with the FMIC and i just installed a new fuel pressure gauge. i was idling at 40psi, but im not sure what i was hitting at 5 pounds. correct me if i'm wrong, but if the fuel pressure was too low at 5psi, wouldn't it still boost to 10psi, but do so very lean? basically, low fuel pressures don't limit boost pressures correct? so what is causing the boost limitation?

btw, im using stock injectors, and i KNOW i am running lean because i hit 1600 on the EGT at 5psi, so i can adjust the pressures later to increase them , but that doesnt explain why i wasnt going above 5psi.

my alternator died on me today, so i have to get that taken care of before i can go back and try to fix this problem, but i'm trying to figure it out ahead of time.

is it possible hahn sent me another 5psi actuator??? are there any identifying marks on it i can look at to see if it's the 10psi unit? it's very weird that it decided to limit boost to exactly 5psi and not some arbitrary number like 6.5 or 8

I would say its VERY possible you got the 5psi.

is the 10 psi shaped differently? i noticed the "10psi" looked identical to the 5psi, with the exception being that it was slightly shinier.

well considering i nearly broke the EGT needle off from running it so lean at 5 pounds, i guess they inadverdently did me a huge favor...but i will be calling them to get it sorted out as soon as i get it back on the road again with a proper alternator.

Contact Bill directly at Tech Service, and have him look up the number sequences on the acturator. He wil be able to tell you.

I got the wrong 5psi actuator twice from Hahn also. I ended up just keeping it and using a boost controller.

The second one I got had (stage?) "II" written on it with a magic marker.

yeah, i will probably stick with the 5psi actuator and then get an MBC once i have all the other little problems fixed.
