#91892, "What size coupler for STAR intercooler pipes"

Hey, the 90º elbow coupler has a hole now because it was rubbing against the bolt on the radiator fan...you guys probably never had that problem. Hopefully this is the reason for my lack of boost. I just need to know what size coupler I need for the STAR intercooler piping. I forgot if it was either 2.00" or 2.5". I would check the piping myself but I have finals this whole week and my house is currently under construction so no room and time. Can anybody help me out? THanks!

The turbo is a 2" coupler, and I think the star is either 2" or 2.25" piping.

AutoZone, find a 2.25" ID radiator hose with a 90* bend. That's what I used. I'll have to go look up the damn part number one day, i see this question far too often.

^^^ this would be the most quality piece, But when mine blew at 18psi on the track I did the Dino method, and it is still holding strong today. So if you don't have the cash or can't wait for the sillicone one, that rad hose works awesome.

Yeah thats a good idea Dino, but I dont have an autozone around here. My city is populated by Kragens and they always have trouble finding things for me. My best bet right now is ebay. its about $32 shipped

Yeah,I just posted that whole thing about a week ago, matter of fact it's pry still on the same front page "turbo elbow". Dino posted the same thing again, atta kid!

Yeah I went for a 2" elbow from ebay for pretty cheap, like $40 shipped cause Dino posted his on my question a day too late. I haven't gotten mine in the mail yet, and I'm still in Mexico, so I can't tell you how it worked out.

Stupid elbows, mine broke the same way. I make-shifted a new one out of stuff from home depot. Everytime I hit like 16 lbs two or three times in the same trip, it blows off. I keep some high-heat gloves in my car and a screw driver! Nothing sucks like a 420a with a giant cold-air intake system and a paper wait that spins!

Xmast.....
There is more than just that one manufacturer and many other price ranges. I asked him to post the best he found, not the only one you found! If you paid any attention in the past 1 year you have been here, you would realize that people find some real incredible deals for parts out there to save a few bucks and getting more than one source for a part is a very wise method of spend your money.

Considering what the factory turbo cars use, Dino has the best idea in my book.

Please do! I went on a quest for a 2"->2.25" elbow today and found lots that were either too small or too big or didn't bend enough.. it was rather frustrating and the parts guy didn't seem to understand why I needed to measure all the rad hoses and eventually told me to go away.

Sorry to bump this thread a bit, but just wanting to find out what that part number on that hose is. I'm piecing together my kit right now and I would love to save some money off those 90* bend hoses. Thanks Dino.

The band on it had part# 206 60828

Searching autozone for just "60828" returned a "hose (lower) for a none none none"

hahaha had to res this one. My elbow just blew. Its a special order item at autozones now. But if your autozone is a hub or a major store, it will have it in stock.

Also noticed...its the same lower radiator hose on my 2001 chevy cavalier, in case you need it by car model.
