well i been turboed for 2 weeks now and everything is going good, i was informed by a friend of mine theat my bov is not hooked up correctly. all i did was mount the bov and run a vac line to the top inlet of the bov and to the intake manifold. he said im venting to the atmosphere this way??? and that i need to run the bottom vac line and a tube from where it vents to the turbo? im new at this and lost as i dont see any instructions on here as to performing this. anybody on here know what im talking about or is this guy a compleete idiot? its the type-s greddy? i guess what i need to know is if i need to hook it up different than where do i run the bottom vac line? and where do i run the big i guess its a dump tube or something? ( area where the air comes out)??
thanx
joe

It's fine. Venting to the atmosphere just means that "the area where the air is coming out" isn't being plumbed back into the intake. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

From what I remember, and correct me if I'm wrong, but what you are doing is jut fine. I know that on the 4g63 the bov should be recirculated, but on the 420a it works just like any other turboed car, and you can vent that sucker to the atmosphere so you can really hear that awesome type s bov!

big-block Chevys to boosted DSM's; hey if it goes fast, and sounds good, that is all that really matters.

You have a MAP sensor. It reads manifold pressure.

A Mass airflow sensor will run rich when all the air that it just read and told the ecu that was there, just got dumped to the atmosphere.

Your good to go.

He's a chaod.

well hes not an idiot, if you had a GST or a GSX he'd be right; but like the others said we have a MAP not a MAF, so teach him...so he wont look like an idiot again
