#90864, "Oil Line instructions?"

I need to build a oil line setup for my 14b. From http://www.turbosupply.shoppingcartsplus.com/page/page/1027453.htm
what parts do I need. Im not lazy, I've been searching the forums for a while and gathered much information, but cant piece it all together to understand exactly what I need. I hope that I can gather these parts or at least most of them at local hardware stores or FleetFarm/Menards/HomeDepot.

I just dont know exactly what adapters and sizes of them to make it work. Also where can I get the red/blue colored adapters and where are the placed in the setup? Thanks, any info greatly appreciated as always!

What part actually plugs into the turbo cartridge? Which fitting? Also, the anplumbing website doesnt work or something, or at least I cant get to it. What other websites like that are there?

hummm all said and done I am pretty sure this is what I had in the order it went from the sender to the turbo:
3/8" NPT -> 1/4" flare fitting
-4AN fitting
-4AN SS line (48" is what I have, you could get away with a 36" I believe, maybe even smaller since my line is wayyy too long)
-4AN -> 1/4" NPT fitting
and the last 1/4" fitting just went straight into the turbo. Note that I do not have my stock oil pressure sender anymore, so you will need to figure out a T on your own. I never actually installed my 14B though, so I cannot say for sure if the 1/4" NPT is the right size. I used a T3/T4 instead and it did use the 1/4" NPT into a banjo bolt.

So where did you get all this stuff without spending a ton of money? All of the Russell Performance ends are fittings are like at least $20 a piece. I would like the red/blue anodized pieces. Where can I just get ss braided lines without any ends on them. Autozone/Checker/Advanceauto doesnt have anything but fuel kits with ss lines in them. Home Depot has lines but they have a rubber inside so that wouldnt work right? Bear with me on all these questions, I really appreciate it though!

Edit: Where can all the Earl's Plumbing parts be bought at?

Your 14B uses a banjo style bolt with 2 copper washers one either side of it for the feed. You can get a stainlesss line from rre but i dont think it nearly long enough, I'm sure you can get them to make you a longer one or at the least get you the fitting that goes on the end. I can't remember what I used when I had the 14B on my car. Anyway hope this helps. http://www.roadraceengineering.com/2g16ginstallkit.htm

about 1/2 way down this read there is a nice pic of the feed line.

$50 oil feed kit made specifically for the 420A (includes T) with whatever fitting you specify... can't really beat the price. emoji

please do not turn this thread into another CI debate. emoji

I paid the money for all Russell Performance fittings. They just look too damn good to not use. $20 a pop? You are getting jipped, mine I think ranged from $5-$20 (and the $20 ones were -10AN).

3/8" NPT -> 1/4" flare fitting
-4AN fitting

Now I need to match these descriptions with pictures because obviously I havent done this before, sorry, and I dont know what each looks like. Thanks all who have and keep on contributing!

Well the 14b does use a banjo fitting and the tread size is 12mm x 1.25. What I did was take a old banjo bolt and cut it off and then weld a -3AN to it. (I cut the bottom of a -3AN to-3AN off). Now this works well but since it is so small it will have to be tig welded. As for out of the block its 3/8 NPT at the oil pressure sender. So simply take a 3/8 NPT nipple and put that into a brass 3/8 NPT Tee and tread your oil pressure sender in one side and then use a 3/8 NPT to -AN adapter. (I had to use a 3/8NPT to -4AN and then a Female -4AN to male -3AN for the supply line.) Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions about a 14b setup.

I know it sounds cocky, but dont worry its not. Like I said before, pics really help at this point because I havent done this before so I dont know exactly what the different fittings look like. I look all over online, but there are so many different names it seems so if you or bumpintalon or anyone else have pics of what they are, that would be best for now. Thanks

Sure, if anybody has some info, good links, or pictures of the fittings, flares, npt, send them to clipsetunr@hotmail.com. When they describe the fitting with a say -4an, what end of the item is it? I take it that that side is the one that the line goes into, but how does it stay in there without coming out? Im really starting to think that this is a lot less complicated than I first thought. Like I said, pics are the best right now so I think that will lead me in the right track for sure! Thanks

When you put an Earl's econ-o-fit hose clamp on the end of a line, how do you connect anything to that hose clamp. There arent any threads on the inside or outside so how do they work? Do you put both the hose and the fitting inside the hose clamp?
