I'm always dealt with MAF until recently when I traded to get a 99' GS and I turbcharged the car. Well I'm finally putting in a forged bottom end and rebuilt head next week. Now that I'm in the position to up the boost above 10psi, I was wondering if I was gonna need a new map sensor like i've always heard i would. Why would I need to change it out? Also, Where can I find one?

if your talking about the factory Map sensor, you cant just upgrade the mapsensor without programming the ECU to understand positive pressure. No one has accomplished this yet.

well i guess i made it harder to understand that i meant my question to be. How much boost can I safely run on the stock map sensor? I am going to be running a forged motor with a t3/t04E. I also have Greddy e-manage to be installed same time. Will the stock map sensor be all I need with a built motor or will i need to replace it?

the stock map sensor will not be able to read boost above 1psi. 1psi will force the map sensor to output 5v, which after 2 secs with throw a code in the ecu. For some ECU's it will cause fuel cut. The map sensor will not become damaged. you will need to used the E-manage to clamp the voltage of the map sensor at 2.69v tops. If the ECU sees 4.70v or higher fo more than 2 secs then you will trip the ECU.

I'm running a missing link at the moment with 10psi. Would I just leave that in place with the e-manage or what would I need to do?

if your using a missing link then you dont need to do anything with the map sensor.
