If you can't adjust your boosted fuel pressure, don't mess with it. Find out what you can adjust on your fuel pressure regulator, and at 9psi, make sure you're at 110-115 psi of fuel pressure with stock injectors. If you can't reach that level, either don't boost OR turn down the boost so your fuel pressures can accomodate. It's not gonna help by band aiding your boosted fuel pressure by upping your idle fuel pressure.
AND lastly, just unhook the FCD entirely, deal with the slight fuel cuts, but be assured you won't go dangerously lean. CALL HRC right away! I figured you were having a problem with your boosted a/f ratio through a bad FCD.
I honestly think I've found the first technical difficulty with HRC's fuel system. That damn FCD or "fuel mapper." It's not only unreliable, but it's prone to be unstable and can have HUGE detrimental effects to your turbosystem.
Many, many of us have had problems with that fuel mapper during initial installs, an have had to send them back for functioning ones (that worked to clamp the fuel at no higher than 4.7 volts). Moreover, who knew if they were performing their jobs on the upper level of things (issuing messages to the ecu for max fuel output and clamping no lower than 4.7 volts) but it appears now that through the monitoring of our map sensors with a S-AFC, we can monitor FCD's effectiveness.
Although my FCD worked for awhile clamping at a decent ~4.5-4.6 voltage rate, a couple of months ago, it started clamping at 3.7 volts as your is now. I immediately called Bill Hahn and told him of this and he expeditiously sent me a new one. (My inital phone call to Bill did not prove enlightening since even he couldn't figure out what the problem was. He was glad when I found out-this was after putting in 3 cans of fuel injector cleaner, new spark plugs twice, new wires once, new fuel filter, multimeter readings of all my fuel injectors, bought new oem injectors and fuel rail that I didn't install cause I found out problem first.) This new one clamps at ~4.4-4.5, so it's not much better.
I'm looking to get a VC-2 (SplitSec.com) when it comes out, but otherwise I keep a close eye on my A/F ratios and ALWAYS monitor my map sensor.
However, setting all of that aside, I see a much larger problem. That defective fuel clamp is not getting the job done by NOT volting at 4.7 volts, and can cause the ultimate destruction to many of our cars if gone unnoticed. I just hope many of us here are taking heed to my posts regarding this. I posted on this before, but I think it's worth bringing it up again.
The HRC Fuel Mappers are unreliable and prone to clamp at a lower number. MONITOR you voltage clamp through your S-AFC or rig something up through a multimeter, because if your not getting close to 4.7 volts for a corresponding max fuel output, you could be allowing your car to go dangerously lean at its most vulnerable moment!
