Ok. I have a 97 eclipse. I recently turboed it with a star stage 2. Besides some minor stuff that is all I have performance wise. I did not install the fcd at the time of the install so I had the cel about map voltage being to high and i had fuel cut. Here is what I dont understand. I did some work on the car this past saturday so I disconnected the battery. On saturday night i went for a long drive. The cel never came back on and my fuel cut problem is gone. I did some driving yesterday and today and the cel is still off and still no fuel cut. There is no fcd installed and no missing link. I have a 97 ecu and fuel system. Any ideas?

Brian

wasn't there someone else with a 97 that ended up not needing a missing link or fcd for some unknown reason

This is a stupid question, but did you build any boost at all?

Way back when I had the FCD setup, it had gone bad so i had to remove it for a short while. I did not get fuel cut every time i went into boost, and when it happened, it seemed to be in the higher rpm range(4700+). This was on my 98. You NEED to have some sort of map sensor voltage clamp, or check valve so it does not either see boost, or too high of voltage. Either the electrical FCD or the "missing link" check valve is what you need to use.

Disregard this post. The CEL for map voltage came back on and fuel cut is back too. It was nice while it lasted.
