hey guys, i just finished putting my sfmu and walbro 255 in my car before i put the turbo in. I followed all the instructions on how to install an sfmu on a 96+ car. I removed the hose from the stock fpr and sealed that hole with jb weld and its not leaking. I connected the bottom of the sfmu to my return line, and the side of the sfmu to my fp gauge then the test port. I put some gas in the tank and try to start up the car and it will not come on. I can't figure out what the problem is and i really need my car drivable. what do you think the problem is? I'm incredibly pissed right now. o yea i also installed a missing link in the car, i dunno if that changes anything.

Are you sure that fuel is getting to the cylinders?? When you turn the key to on, you should hear the fuel pump whirr for 1-3 seconds as it primes. If you are not hearing this sound, the fuel pump is not working properly.

the fuel pump is making that sound when i turn it and i know gas is getting there b/c there were a couple of leaks around the sfmu that i had to tighten up. Now theres no leaks and when I turn the key my fp gauge goes to around 50.

i got the car started! i adjusted the static pressure on the top of the sfmu. I turned it so it was pretty far up and my fuel pressure was at 20. I thought our fuel pressure was suppose to be at around 45-50 so i started raising the pressure up and the car starts smoking out the exhaust manifold. any ideas?

what kind of smoke? emoji your car is probably running too rich right now since you've been trying to start it forever, its probably just sooty black smoke that smells kind of like gasoline. see if it clears up after running the car for a long time, or else turn down your idle pressure.

it looks white'ish. i think thats the problem. either that or the fact that im retarded and used some gas in the garage that i though was new and ended up being pretty old.

whiteish smoke is not a good sign... old gas might have something to do with it. to be sure tho, can you do a compression test on it? you might have a headgasket problem.

i think i found the problem. i used gas that i thought was new........it ended up being over a year old. when i found out i took it to the gas station and put some 93 octane in. The smoking dramatically decreased. I didnt have a chance to run it more but it seemed like it was stopping.
