#89129, "NEED MORE INFO!!!---Mitsu turbo on stock 2gnt manifold?????"
Sup guys I did my fair share of searching around on here and came across the idea about the 14b on the 2gnt manifold. For anyone who has run this setup before, what problems did you have?, if any? how much boost was ran? Basically, I want to know if it really works and if so, how reliable is it? Thanks

a big question i have is how well will the turbo seal to the manifold considering the turbo has a square flang and the manifold has a round flange.????? besides that, the only other issue i can see is the possibility of oil starvation to the turbo due to super fast spooling at 10+ psi.

why is this a possibility? if it got oil from another car and spooled fast at 10psi, why would it not get enough oil on ours? spool has nothing to do with feeding oil...oil pressure does. I don't mean to be a dick, but do you even know anything about turbos? if not, You need to read "Maximum Boost" by corky bell

look dude, DON'T BE A DICK! either answer the question that i asked, or take your smart a** comments some place else. Do you understand? when you over boost your turbo you starve it of oil. not only do you f*ck up your turbo but you heat soak like a bitc*. in all this you didnt realize the smoke coming from your exhaust, thats u frying your turbo!!!!! after all that you take your turbo off to check the shaft play, side to sdie not to bad but whats this i have up and down shaft play my god my seals are gone , wht to do ... now you have to go buy a new turbo because not even tubonetics can help you... so go back and read your own book then burn it and get some hands on....just stop driving turbo cars until you get some info before you make us all stupid by listen to your incoherant rambling...... you jacka**..... PEACE!!!!

The last thing you have to worry about is burning up your 14b because of the super fast spool at 10+ psi. This turbo is fully capable of feeding a 2.0l engine at a sustained ~10 psi without destroying the bearings. There are also no inherent characteristics of our engine that will make the shaft spin fast enough, while getting up to 10 psi, to destroy the bearings. If you choose a boost level that is in far excess of the design boost pressure, you could overspin the turbo and destroy it. I have done this before and it is not pretty. High pitched squeal from the compressor, shaft play, blue smoke, barfing oil out the BOV, you get the picture. The scenario you mention can happen; it just won't happen at any reasonable boost level on a 14b on our engine.
PS: Keep it friendly or the post gets locked.
