what kinda oil pressure do our cars run when to the turbo when you tap from the oil pressure sensor? garrett recommends using a restrictor if the oil pressure goin into the turbo is over 60psi. the GT series has ball bearings and requires less oil. just wonderin if our cars would need one.

I spoke to Garrett about this at SEMA last year. But the person wasn't too helpful. It sucks ass to leak oil past the thrust bearing!I know turbo's are only suppose to get 30 PSI at high boost and no more. My turbo used leaking oil due to the fact that it's 60 PSI during load. Anyway after that's said and done, here is the link where you can GET one! POINTS PlEASE!!!

I got mine from ATP ^^^.

This GT turbo oil restrictor REQUIRED for us on GT turbos.

EDIT:

I looked at that first link, you should only use the GT turbo restrictor for the GT turbo, not the T3 as listed in the first link!

Here's a direct link to the one you need:
http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ATP-OIL-021&Category_Code=GTBB

The GT restrictor connects to the turbo directly (inverted -4 AN flare male thread). You get different pressure results depending on how far away the restriction is.

On a cold start it's pretty high. I wanna say like 60-70 PSI I will have to look when I cold start it again.

Search nubbins. Most guys say 55-60 when the motor is warm while cruising above 1500rpm. When cold around 80. It should idle around 25-30.

400whp or bust.
