#88130, "no boost... tried different vac sources, need help!!!!"

ok... today, just driving on the highway, get my car in 3rd and was about to shift, then all of a sudden, boost goes from 10 psi to 1psi! so i get home, let the car cool a bit, then rip apart the wastegate, everything still looks good! checked the diaphragm, checked the valve, even checked the little ring that goes inside the header to gate flange. everything there checked out ok. so i change all of my vac lines! now everything is getting vac from the brake booster. bov, wg, i even hooked up my profec today to see if that would make a difference in trying to get boost. no luck! so what else could be the problem? ive already disconnected the profec just to see if it could even read the same boost again. what else could it be? i dont see it being the turbo. im not blowin smoke out the ass end yet!

anybody got a suggestion?

btw. its a tial sport 38mm gate. i have (or did have) the profec on the side port and vac on the top port. the old setup was just the vac line on the top port.

yep checked that as well... everything looks ok... no broken hoses. btw, ive already replaced that crappy plastic line with vac line.

ok, so this is what i know thus far! engine is still fine. while running, theres no surging, no backfire, nothing. just runs like its damn n/a again. ive swapped back and forth the vac lines going into the wastegate. vac from the intake is now on the side port. so... wtf!!!!!

any other suggestions??

tia

Do a IC pipe leak test, http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html

Use a spray bottle w/ water and some dish soap to spray around and look for bubbles being formed (they will be huge if you used an ok amount of dish soap in your water).

Also, retorque your exhaust manifold studs, and turbine inlet flange bolts.

I mean if you pressure checked the wg, it's either a leak somewhere or a screwed turbo right? and I doubt it's the turbo.

check all of your silicone connection form your turbo to your intake. one could be split by a clamp or something and still look "normal"

Buy extra elbows. You'll blow them fairly often.
