Does the ECU retard ignition w/ a higher intake air temp? I'm trying to figure out why my timing is a few degrees lower than it use to be when I was non-turbo (my knock sensor is disconnected). I have a front mount running 9 psi and I'm getting 118* air temps once I'm on the throttle in 90* weather (intake temp is 130 when low throttle).

Well I found out the lower air temp from the IAC on the stock ecu causes an increased injector pulse time, and I'm almost certain from all my logs that the higher the voltage the nbo2 sees the more timing the ECU pulls (as well as other variables of course).

yes as the intake temp sensor sees a higher temp, pulsewidth is adjusted and so is timing. hence why those resistor mods for the intake temp sensor actually work sort of...

In theory, it should. However, with the way our ecu outputs data, it's hard to determine exactly what it does in any given situation.

YES!
The factory ECU is tuned conservatively, but that's to prevent complete failure of the whole engine in case one sensor or component goes outside its normal operating parameters.
