lately i feel my car has less power.. ive checked everything for boost leaks and cannot find any. but the thing is if i shift normally like during driving and spool up ill hit all 8 psi and stay there. but if i floor it and really shift fast 1st gear is fine but 2nd and up i get stuck at around 5-6 psi or so and it just doesnt feel like it should.. it used to be fine . now lately this is happening.. could the wastegate be causing this? could it be getting slightly pushed open during full throttle and loosing my boost or what? cause it was fine b 4 and lately this has been happening. no boost leaks anywhere .. i dunno. i may try to tighten the wastegate arm so it kinda pulls the valve closed harder during no boost . think that would help?

Do you hve a manual boost controller? if not I suggest getting one, it will help steady your pressures. Also, have any other pics of your engine bay? Im curious to see your setup.

ya i have a MBC, im gonna take it apart and look at waste gate today..i do have a few pics ya. but they have to b emailed cause i think they are too big to post on here. basically with my current setup i am using a Tdo5H eclipse turbo bolted and then welded on to a stock 420a mani , piping i got from ebay and local auto stores and i made everything else . except fmu and stuff..but it actually works very well. my other setup i ran a 14.3 and that was designed the same way but with a smaller subaru turbo, i still have it but i like the eclipse turbo better.. its a lil faster. hoping to do high 13's after i fix this minor boost drop.

is that ur email? i never saw one like that. what do i type in the send to: field? also is the 14b the Tdo4 turbo? cause i have a spare one that i cant use , ive been lookin for a spare tdo5h though.. i also fixed the problem .. it was the waste gate.. i got a new one and put it on better and its working great again. . let me know about the address and ill send pics. its not nearly the nicest looking kit but it does work very well...

ahh it is cody.templeton AT edu.sait.ca, you change the " AT " to "@" since spammers can automatically pick up on people's e-mail addresses or something. I dunno. in any case, the school blocks my e-mail access for one week if I start receiving too much junk mail, so I might as well be careful.

ok . ill scan and send some new ones tonight. BTW, if u do this the same way i did u will have to remove PS and AC compressor and parts. all of it. and u will have to "slightly" dent in the antifreeze line that is from the radiator hose to water pump to clear the waste gate. or cut it and replace it with a rubber hose. and the exhaust is a pain. the way the turbo has to face makes the exhaust outlet point down and towards the radiator so there is not much room for a pipe there. its a sharp bend.

yes. cause im using the stock exhaust manifold. the turbo i used bolts on to it. i had to cut the bottom of the shield like 2" shorter to clear turbo but it works yes.

im not too fond of having the turbo buried down there but oh well. it makes the same power as any after market kit for a fraction of the cost so i cant complain.. and never mind that home depot transition coupler. it was temporary till my turbonetics one came.. no more heat wrap or cheap connector now.
