For the price, you can't be a Joe P, or a Hallman MBC. I used a Hallman, and it worked just fine. I also made one, that also worked really well, but it does take some tinkering with spring lenghts and tensions to get it to work like you want it to..

Which can be troublesome if you don't have any wiggle room with your tuning or engine- ie upgraded internals that can handle an extra psi or 5!

Yeah, theres that. Another thing is even if you do have a bit of wiggle room, its frustrating when it doesn't work right. I made one and it works ok for a bit, but the max boost eventually starts dropping over time. I don't know if its the spring thats getting all worn or maybe I just need a stronger spring.

Usually with these sort of things I'd just figure it out, BUT I want to get some solid boost already so I just bought(it-now) a Lower Shores MBC. Looks like a good one to me, the cost definately looks good, and Dave likes it so thats good too.

Hallman. Rock solid control. They've been a big supporter of the dsm community for years. Take care of those that take care of you.

I used to have a Hallman too, back in the day. It was a lot easier to deal with than an electronic boost controller and always worked like it should. The trick with the Hallman (or any boost controller) is that you need to have the vacuum lines as short as possible, which means no cheating the boost leaks by hooking it to the intake manifold.

I've used a JoeP since day one, it's fantastic. Never an issue.

Greddy Profec. Once you go electronic you'll never go back.

If my boost spikes over my max setting it pulls 4 psi out right away. I can set how fast the boost comes on, when it falls off and everything.

Then again, I'm now broke. Tomorrow I'm ordering a JoeP, I can't wait long enough to have money for a electronic to turn about the boost.
