hey guys, i have a hrc stage two with front on my 99gs everything is fine except a weird noise and fuel pressure drops..
i know my fuel pump is loud but when i'm at a stop my fuel pump or something in the rear makes a weird noise the fuel pump gets louder and when it does my fuel pressure gauge drops 5psi on it? but then when the noise is back to normal my fuel pressure goes back to normal? what could this be? i have the stock fuel setup etc from hrc i know alot of people complain about the fpr, but so far my idle is fine only the 1st couple days i had to adjust since that ( 2+ weeks ) its been fine each time... its just this weird prob? any feedback is helpful also i got a 99gs late fuel system... sorry to blow up now but someone also ding my door when i was eatting dinner with my friends at Red Robin dame bastard smiles =) while they took off... dame if i caught them i would have kick there ass ... sorry to vent hehe.. but please advice me what to check or if this is normal with the hrc kit ?thanks

upgrade to a 3000gt fuel pump. did you upgrade the injectors. need alittle more info.

injectors are stock so far.. i'm going to look over the fuel tonight or tommorow when i'm free ... my fpr seems fine at idle when you start it up which everyone complains about but i dont run into that problem... i just run into the noise and fuel pressure dropping when it makes that noise but its like for a split second then comes back to normal?

I have the HRC stage 2 also, wondering if there is another quieter fuel pump or something. those fuel pumps suck ass. i wish someone would of told me before i got my turbo kit that the fuel pump would be loud as sheeeit. Just telling anyone, who didn't know like me, your car's fuel pump is LOUDDD! after a turbo installation.

I have heard both and the walbro that the star kit uses is the quietest one. I have a Walbro and it just whines a little. The HRC fuel pump sounds crazy. Imagine having both like Jason ESiT has. His must be really loud!!

You guys might probably think I'm lying or something when I tell you this, but my fuel pumps are relatively very quiet. (BOTH of them!) The ONLY time I hear the Accel pump is when my fuel tank is almost empty AND I have really run my car hard. But only then. Otherwise, it sounds like a quiet-ish hum. Not invasive, loud or anything. It's actually a very cool quietish high-tech noise. Plus, my Walbro is the furthest thing from loud. It's even quieter than my Accel. The loudest my Walbro gets is when I first prime my car before I start it. (turn the key halfway to get the fuel system pressurized before turning it over)

And I know you guys are legit with your complaints b/c I've heard loud-ish fuel pumps. I don't know why some people have loud fuel pumps and others don't. I really don't. Some say it's relative to mounting, others say it relates to how much fuel your pump is getting (possibly pinched lines), and may others think it's the luck of the draw.

I guess I'm lucky b/c I can't hear my fuel pump(s) at all, at least not when I'm in the car. When I'm out of my car and stand over next to where the inline pump is, on some occasions it's a tad more louder than others, but I can almost never hear it except for the situations I mentioned above.

Another guy in my town also had installed his HRC system, but his accel pump is also louder than mine. I know mine is operational, because sometimes (above-mentioned situations) it's louder and when I press my ear against the car, I can hear it. It has 10 gauge wire running to it. Maybe that made the difference?

sounds like your in-tank pump is loosing power. when it doesn't feed the in-line pump, fuel pressure WILL drop, and the in-line pump will become SUPER SUPER LOUD. check all the wiring for your stock pump.

My HRC fuel pump is super loud too. Whines louder than the engine at 3000 rpm. The less fuel the engine is using (esp. at a stop) the louder it is. Mike W. at RoadRace talked to Bill Hahn Jr. about it and he said it's totally normal. Mine's insulated with 1" of styrofoam (think pooltoy noodles) all around it, and it's bearable now.

Also, drops in voltage will slow down the fuel pumps. When my AC or brake lights kick on, the in-line slows down noticeably.
