#8692, "Fuel Pump Noise Question"

Damn I ask too many questions on here, maybe cause I live in an area where nobody can help me, and all you guys know your shit. Anyways I get the loud whine of the intank Walbro right, I have learned to accept that. I however also get this peiodic slurping noise. Not an empty slurp but a noise which sounds like drinking pop out of a straw at the very top of the drink. Like there is too much pressure for a little hole and it is getting sucked out. Does anyone else get this? Any other noise coming from the pump except the whine. Let me know if I am just anal or if this is a concern.

Thanks.
Thomas.

I think you just hear it sucking in fuel and are a little anal emoji . I wouldn't worry about it unless my AF/EGT was acting up. REALLY worry when you dont hear any whine.

Sounds like maybe the same sound as when you bend and crack your straw when drinking a soda? Liquid still comes thru, but it's hard to slurp.

My guess is that there's air coming into the intake of the fuel pump somewhere. Most aftermarket fuel pumps recommend you don't run less than 1/4 tank of fuel. I've heard Walbro's in particular get very loud and whiney when you're almost outta gas.

Won't hurt to check the path of the fuel lines under the car, and around the fuel pump and FPR. Look for leaks, dark spots, kinks or dents, etc.
