i know at WOT, you tune to .93-.94 to be good. well, at cruising, i was tuning to .94 and i was wonderign why my car was literally drinking gas, like 10 miles thru a 1/4 of gas, lol. so while im cruising and boosting on 3psi to break in, how many volts on the o2 sensor should i be tuning to with the afc? thanks guys.

The super afc is the death of the 2gnt. Don't use it too much else you will blow up that engine. It does too many wacky things to the timing. If you have your fuel slope correct then you should not have to worry about it. I'm assuming you are using a SFMU. Try the largest disk with the bleed vavle about 1/4 open to start. That is what I used in the past and seemed a tad rich, but the engine was for sure happy with it. I was getting 21 MPG on that.

The real question....

Why are you spending time to tune your car on 3lbs of boost? Everything will change when you start running more boost.

If you lost a 1/4 tank in 10 miles you have a fuel leak, I'm sure of it. And don't pay any attention to the nb02, it's useless. Get an EGT gauge and do it right (kinda.)

seriously, mike. with the amount of time and money you have spent thus far on your car, don't chinse out and tune using blinky lite A/F's or digital narrow bands. they're just not precise enough. sell all that shit and get a wideband unit. they're not that much more and you will have a much better (TRUER) reading of your AF ratio.

Because he's going through gas like crazy. What makes you thing that he should turn up the boost when he's already WAY off on the fuel?

If you're using an S-FMU and 440cc injectors, like your sig shows, then disable your S-AFC to start with. Actually, get rid of it... as it's not necessary and it doesn't work well with the stock ECU. Make sure your fuel pressure is set real low and get the right disc and spring combo in that S-FMU. What's your fuel pressure set to right now?

the reason im using the s-afc is because i needed to lean out my idle like hardcore to make it smooth. other than that, i only have the 2k rpm low setting at -8%. tim, i know i need a WBO2, just broke for now for awhile. im not tuning to the blinky a/f really, ive been going by what the afc is reading from the o2 (volts) actually though. my fuel pressure right now is set at 20psi, although last week the static screw came loose and it droped to 10psi at idle and it still idled smoothly actually. should i drop the FP to like 14 or something? i forget what disk and ring im using, whatever terry told me to use like 2 months ago, i will search and find it when i get back in an hour from painting a buddies house.

p.s. i know for fact i dont have a fuel leak either emoji
maybe my static is set too high emoji

I think your idle FP is too high..I run 30lb injectors (310cc) and idle at 20-22psi.

Dont tune to anything based on the narrow band o2 sensor, or if you must just dont even look at the guage and just push the buttons up and down it doesnt matter cause its all just guessing anyways and a good way to do damage.
Just stop now, if you must got take a few dyno pulls (its like 100 bucks) for 3 pulls with wideband. thats the only way.
The narrowband is only accurate at stoich after that is just bouncing back and forth and now accurate

so i went on an hour drive today to show show, i lowered my static down to 13psi and i got sweet gas mileage finally. my egts never went over 1450 and i was in 4th or 5th the whole time doing about 65-75 mph. everything went great today, boosted a little on the highway, good oil pressure, no overheating or anything and great gas mileage. i ended up driving about 2 hours 10 minutes total on highway today and only went through a quarter in a half of gas. it was great to get some miles on the motor too, i got 267 on it now emoji only about 250 more until i show it some higher boost. thanks for the tuning help though guys and the wideband is next on my list to get. im going to go with the aem eugo wideband im pretty sure, ive seen godo reviews and its about about $300 locally for gauge and sensor and wiring.

You lowered your static down to 13 psi??? That would make you idle at like 8 psi?

That sounds about right. It's the only way to use 440cc injectors with the stock ECU alone.

Its been my experience with the RC440's and the correct disc/spring combo and really low f/p(15!) that I couldn't get by w/out using the safc to get decent stft(pocketlogger) at idle. Our ecu can and does "learn" how to use these size injectors, but not very well at idle. Spark plug life is limited to oil change intervals. By all means, get a wideband! Many of us literally spend thousands of dollars on our engine/turbo setups and yet won't fork out 300-400 to guarantee longevity. After more than 2 1/2 years of being turbo'ed,I finally bought one;if I only knew then what I know now... Good Luck!
