#86551, "Rebuilding motor, need suggestions/info on my turbo setup"

The motor is at the shop now. I'm having the crank ground and balanced, new main/rod bearings, cylinders honed, JE 8:8.1 pistons + eagle h-beam rods, aslo I'll be instlaling an AF/X udp. I'm going to be running stock head, arp studs, Felpro MLS head gasket, MSD wires, NGK BKR7E plugs, accel 335cc/m injectors, SFMU (2.72 disc in right now), walbro 255 pump, turbonetics t3/t4, a fairly small FMIC, greddy type-s BOV, 2.25" downpipe with 2.5 from there back, greddy turbo timer, EGT, A/F, boost gauges. There's roblably more that I can't think of.

My questions are:
1: Bigger downpipe?, will a mandrel U bend work good for a starter DP?

2: With this setup... Daily boost?, Max boost?, SFMU setup?, I have more questions about the setup I can't think of, I'll post when they come to mind. Any comments/suggetsions?

3: When I get larger injectors, what should I go for and will I be able to increase boost when they are installed?

4: Anything majorly restricting I'm doing wrong here? Any suggestions/info for current/future mods or reference appreciated. Thanks.

Down pipe depends on what kind of exaust you have. 2.5 ish is what we can fit over our rear. Maybe 3 inch if you get custom work. I tryed to get someone to do that but once I told tome that I had an eclipse the said no, they would never put a 3 inch exaust on a eclipse again. A 3.5 Down pipe is fine.

For everything else search, they have been talked about here since the dawn of time.

First we should be asking you what your goals are! Where do you want to be HP wise? Or how mush boost do you want to run?

With the setup you described you could run around 12 to 14psi once your rebuild it complete with the fuel setup you have now until you get bigger injectors, but IMO I would look towards a better fuel setup if you want to run more boost!

The 8 injector setup has proven itself worthy and will handle 24psi. The reason I say 24psi is because I have a friend wiht that setup pushing 24psi with the 8 injector setup.

Then you have the portfueler, and from what I have researched so far is a great fuel system to have for running 15psi and up.

Last there is the Megasquirt which some people on here are getting shafted by Mr. Slick, which he says was not his intention....but that is another story in itself. The MS not only controls your fuel but your ignition as well. Probably the best route if you get it working correctly.

Some of this you probably already know, but I thought I would throw it out there just in case.

So now go SEARCH!!! LOL!
