i dont know if i should be posting in this section or general or what but its a quick question i think...
my egt needle sticks at 7-800 and never goes down or up. i had the wires unscrewed from each other and it still read the same. do u think its a faulty gauge or wiring or what? i know im wired right though. im wired to the 12v cig lighter wire, good ground and then the red yellow wires bolted down good to the back of the gauge and neer the probe. the probe is in pretty far too so it should be getting hot. any idea's?

You answered your own question like 4 times in that post...

Seriously... you think your car only reads 700 while everyone elses varies between 800-1500 degrees?

After seeing your interior fuck up in that other post I wouldnt be suprised if the gauge is hooked up.

so the needle does move occasionally? which would mean it has power... sounds like either the gauge or the probe is faulty... does the needle move at all when your car is off but the power is still on? what about when you turn the power off? if it moves when you turn the power off, then i would think its the probe. but if it sticks, then i think its the gauge

If you've wired the gauge properly - when you turn the ignition on and the engine is cold the gauge should reset to 0. If this isn't happening then double check the gauge wiring. Make sure you're getting 12v when you turn the key and make sure that the ground is good.

If that all looks good then test the gauge and probe - http://www.frostalarm.com/cat/airworth.html
