well ive made my 2nd custom turbo setup and im using a TDO5 eclipse turbo. which is a lil bigger than my subaru one i was using before. but my question is . im still boosting to 8 psi but now my BOV is barely noticable? why would this be? the smaller turbo made it louder than my bigger turbo . anyone?

i have a copy of the turbo XS . but ya it can be adjusted but its set for all the way hard right now. i like the sound better . but i would think with a bigger turbo that makes more air flow . so i dont see why its softer sounding.

A bigger turbo spools up slower and you aren't boosting more than before so you will have to rev higher in order to get the BOV louder. If you want loud, get an RFL-H I had one for like a day and it was crazy loud at 5 PSI. I can't imagine how loud it would be at 8+ PSI.

I'd be pretty happy if my bypass valve suddenly got quieter... Does it leak at all under boost pressure? If it doesn't leak, and it still prevents surge, it's working perfectly.

neways,
was that subaru turbo a WRX turbo? cuz they are like td04-13Ts or something crazy like that, and they suck, but they spool relatively quickly

no it was a 94 legacy turbo. and suprisingly it was real good. i still have it for a spare if i ever blow this one. but ya it spooled up super fast. its an IHI rhb5 turbo. i ran a 14.3 with it my first time ever at a track. which aint bad for a home made setup. if i had slicks i guarentee id be in high 13's , but all i had was my stock 14" street tires.. oh well . still fast.
