Hello all i have a couple of question's 1st off what are the sugested ways to start off turboing my ESI?? I've been reading the forms for a year or so now and am finally ready to do some mods now i read that 1st i should add a bost gauge any recomendations on a brand?? Then Second I seen the intake but dont know which to get was thinks Injen or K&N ??? I've also seen to do the BoV Before i do the Intake and if thats true i can get ahold of a 1g BoV but does my ESI even have a BoV since in not a turbo (Not yet any way) and when im doing the mods to make it a turbo do i switch to getting Turbo parts for my mods or i stick with the NT parts??? Any sugestions for me and my ESI are greatly appreciated either post or e-mail me at revanti@nycap.rr.com

You should just save up for the kit. You can try to make a backyard kit but I don't reccomend it. Yes a boost gauge is handy, you'll definately want that, but wen you get the turbo. One thing you can do is a turbo exhuast system. I really need on bad, I have a BB turbo and it sure doesn't act like one without the exhuast I think. Don't bother getting the filter because it comes with the kit. If your filter is dirty now though, just replace it with any K&N copy. If you buy the whole intake (the arm and filter) then your wasting money because you have to get rid of it when you do the turbo install. You can go check junykards for a suitable intercooler like a starion or Saabs, it'll save you big bucks if you get your own intercooler. An oil cooler is also a good idea, because when you go turbo your oil will get much hotter than it was when you were NA. An air fuel ration meter won't hurt also.

Befor you turbo anything you should consider changing the engines internals (i.e rods. pistons, lightened and knifeedged crank). Isay that because the 420a has very weak connecting rods. If you add boost and run what HRC or STAR which is 5 to 7 psi.you won't have problems. but if you go over that recommened boost setting you will fry the internals. get all of the internals forged call Forward Motion at(302) 658-2829 if they don't answer leave a message. They will definataly get back with you. For cams, throttle bodys, and port and polish work good for 50 to 60 H.P call Gude Performance(909) 244-3533.

If you have any question E-mail me

badassmitsu@hotmail.com

I highly recommend the HRC stage 2 kit it comes with everything but get rid of the fpr and get a Vortech Fpr

AEM CAI, Greddy EVOlution exhaust, B&M shifter, David Brode Custom straight pipe extruded intake manifold, slight port and polished head, fidanza cam gears, crower stage 3 cams, and not tuned yet ( cam gears are on 0)

Planning to add HRC stage 4, AFX UDP, Modern performance 60mm T-b

Just for the record, Terry..

There's nothing wrong with stock connecting rods. Stan is running 10PSI on 10.5:1 compression with prepped stock rods. It's the pistons that are the weak point, not the rods.
