I just got done with the install but my car won't idle. I'm not really sure what the problem might be. And all the different smells are kind of scaring me. Any thoughts are appreciated. Also, anyone in or around Anaheim, CA want to help me out here? Thanks emoji

You probably just need to adjust the idle fuel pressure down on your sfmu. Don't freak out, thats a pretty normal thing to happen when you first start up. Also did you remove your stock fuel pressure regulator? It has to be gone before the sfmu will work. Good luck emoji

Oh, you don't like altezza's? Too bad, your gonna get a good look at mine.

if you unhooked your battery, as per STARs instructions, its gonna take your car a lil while to "normalize" itself, since you reset the ECU.

Smell could be anything, especially if you coated the manifold with copper gasket spray like you should have.

Thanks for the input guys. I have the regular FMU that comes with the STAR kit, so I left the stock FPR in place and just hooked the FMU in line between the FPR and the return line to the fuel tank. That's what I'm supposed to do with the FMU , right? I'm hoping it is just the ECU trying to "normalize" itself. It has been just about a week since I began the install. Thanks again for the replies emoji

Yes.

Check the MAP voltage clamp that came with your kit. if its installed wrong, your car will have severe idle and drivability issues.

When I get home from work today, I'm going to check the vac lines and the voltage clamp. The only vac lines I'm supposed to have installed were from the FMU to the back of the intake mani and from the wastegate to the turbo, right? If I don't have the voltage clamp installed, should my car still start up like normal? No, I don't have a boost gauge or any of those goodies, but I plan on getting them very sooon along with the Missing Link and a Flex Section for the DP. Thanks for the input guys. Much appreciated.

BTW, I was thinking of changing my user name. How about KissMeImBoosted or TOOjeeENtee?

You should also have a vac source going to the blow off valve. How is the fuel pump set up? Inline or intank?

I don't have a BOV for my stage 1. The fuel pump is intank.

sorry to butt in here, but the vac line from the bov should also go to the back of the intake mani right? and i would also think not having a bov can't be very good even at low boost you should pick up a 1g one for cheap

I've also noticed that when i turn my key to the 2 position, the light in the radio comes on, but it doesn't say anything or play anything. There is also an oil light that comes on in the dash. Any ideas?
