#85215, "No downpipe to the muffler shop? Stupid? alternative?"
Well I am nearing completion of my custom 13b turbo kit (cute lil thing) and I am getting the intercooler piping made before I start my install at the muffler shop (2" intercooler piping). But I am afraid it would be too hard to get a downpipe made up before the turbo is installed.
So my ? is would it be stupid to install everything on the kit and then ride to the muffler shop to get my downpipe completed (5 minutes away)
Or would it be easy to just to bend up a clothes hanger and take it to them (along with the 02 housing?)

Bolt the o2 housing on so that you're at least not pointing the exhaust at something important, like a radiator hose or wiring harness, and then you'd be fine to drive it to mexico as far as i'm concerned. I know people that have driven for months with only an O2 housing.

hmm my quick ghetto fix was that flex ehaust tubing. it kinda looks like the th tubing you hook your dryer to the out side of the house with. i just hoooked that up from 02 housing to cat and that seemed acceptable.

The muffler shop can make the downpipe while the turbo is already on the car. The can just place the proper piping in there, fit it by hand then tack it together. Once it is tacked together they can unbolt it from the turbo and weld it completly together outside the car.
