Some of you probably read this elsewhere already, but I blew my built motor with less than a 1000 miles on it a few weeks ago. Depending how bad/extensive the damage is I'll probably have it re-machined and rebuilt. So, here's my question ... I'm thinking about taking my turbo kit off when I put the motor back in and running the car stock with just a built motor ... maybe for the remainder of this year just give it chance to break in/settle in. Is that being smart ... or am I just being paranoid at this point?? My car was down for 8 months last year .. I don't want to do this again. The only thing I can think of contrary to that would be that it might be better to break in the motor with the full load of HP I normally run.

Chris, you HAVE to be fucking kidding me... All that work, and such a nice car. I'm really sorry man you are having all these problems with your car. Personally I have heard of people rebuilding it and just leaving the fuel system in and after break in, put the turbo back in. Boost at the stock wastegate then bump it up after a couple thousand. Again man, I really love your car and it sucks your having all these problems Is there anything salvagable off the old motor? Pistons, Rods? If you want, over this summer I could help out putting the new engine in.

Why??? Huh, that's a great question ... I'd love to know myself. You'd have a read my thread in the performance section for all the details ... in short, I think I spun a main shaft bearing.

Geo - Thanks for the sympathy man ... I think I deserve some sort of 2GNT award for the most downtime ever or the most problems ever encountered. I was sitting at light on Cedar Crest blvd when I happened to glance at my OP gauge and noticed I had none. Pulled the car over and it hasn't been driven since. The part that sucked was I had no one to call and no way home ... I need to find a wife! I had the car trailored this weekend to the garage in Q-town. I'll be pulling the engine back out again in a few weeks to determine exactly what is wrong. B/c I think it's just a bearing I hoping the rods and pistons are fine (cross my fingers). I'll post up here once I figure it out for sure. If it's real bad I'll be parting the car out to buy a GSX!

Yeah, I wish, that was the first thing I checked, def. not that. My idoit light is on which means no pressure. The knocking sound in the bottom end is sorta a clue ... emoji

wait, so it started knocking? Well the first thing out is how you lost oil pressure, next thing, just replace the bearings. Its not a complete loss keep your head up man. Shit goes wrong, my car has been down 6 months due to tranny problems. just because Josh at JNZ tunning cant rebuild and I dont have the money because of college to get it rebuilt ever 2-3 months because he cant build em. lol Sorry had to vent a lil
