Ok, so I picked up my car from the body shop for the weekend. (i have to take it back). My MSD box has been giving me some problems so I have it out of the loop right now. Well.. the mental note is.. the MSD HAS to be hooked up in order to allow the portfueler to give you fuel..
I was driving the car home.. started crossing 3 or 4 pounds of boost then it was running like shit obviously.. Im freaking out, thinking god damn, another problem....
Well.. the moment I popped the hood I remember that the MSD box was unplugged.

Words of truth. Thats why I was so suprised to find out that after all those weeks of trouble with his car, Tim97RS is looking to buy ANOTHER msd. oh well. I love my Crane.

Why? Do you have the PF tachometer input hooked to the MSD's tachometer output? If you have both set up correctly one should be able to work without the other.

i have the msd box hooked up correctly. one doesn't work without the other. if the msd box is not is in the loop, then it doesn't give an output.

So connect the PF to the vehicle tach signal in the ECU harness. You don't NEED the MSD, or the tach adapter.

No. James is using his MSD to provide the tach signal to his portfuler. That's why it can't work without it because it gets no RPM signal without the MSD running. IF you get the RPM signal for the portfuler from the stock wireing then you need no extra ignition system.
I edited to the wiki!
