#84692, "Ford 30# injectors"

Recently a friend of mine upgraded the injectors on his 04 SVT Focus. They are 30# injectors. What I want to know is, can I use them on my car with out a resistor box?

Can I also use them with a FMU recal kit and no SAFC?

They'll run fine with no SAFC.

ford injectors are plug and play. Set your idle to about 20-22 psi. And you're basically right on the disk...I use the 3.62 dia. disk on my SFMU (which is 3.5 to 1 I beleive) with a bleed valve set up.

I don't have a SFMU, I have just the regular FMU. I was wondering if I could just use a recalibration kit with it so the raising rate isn't so high.

If ya can't adjust your idel fuel pressure you are going to run big rich and also max out your fuel trims and trips a CEL in no time with 30#ers.

Also, I should say that you can lean out your idle with an safc...but for the price you might as well get an sfmu IMO.

the new ones may not be plug N play like the old red mustang injectors
the SVT injectors are slimmer in size and probably taller plus I don't think they share the old connector design

I got some 30s and tried to use them with a SAFC doesn't work at least it doesn't work as nice if you had a SFMU or fuel pressure adjuster. So its a bad idea to put 30s in without some kinda of fp adjuster.

How about using a 6-1 disc in my FMU and then use the SAFC to trim the FP down at idle?

you can do that but think about it stock FP is like 38 psi and you have to drop it down to 20ish just to get it to run happy. The SAFC shouldn't be used to do that kinda tuning, only fine tuning.

Anyway I tried it and it would throw a rich code every now and then.
