im bran spankin new to the turbo world so please bare with me... i have been searching this forum for about a year now on how im going to go about turboing my RS and i just grew the balls to do it. before i do i was thinking i should just do the fuel system before i turbo. this way i can take my time with buying all the parts and at the same time have something going towards the turbo setup.
but anyway, so if i hook up the SFMU according to the mod instructions, walbro 255, A/F gauge and fuel pressure gauge im thinking i'll probubly be running a little on the rich side wouldnt I??? or does it even matter since the SFMU wouldnt see boost, therefore it wouldnt affect anything right??? the only thing i can think of that would increase fuel pressure is the pump. and if i do run rich couldnt i use an SAFC to lean things out? If that setup would even work NA, what disc/spring setup would i use that will run right on a non turbo setup???
i realize i should do the fuel along with the turbo that way i can get everything working right all in one shot. but i think ima end up doing little by little anyway so why not start on the fuel????

ya smfu you can adjust your idle fuel pressure so you wont run rich. installing the fuel first is a great idea. i just got the regular fmu, but thats what i did, car still runs great. only thing in the fuel system i wouldnt install before the turbo would be injectors(if you got bigger ones).

Agreed ^^^^, your fuel system requirements shouldn't change drastically unless you start playing around with injectors. I would go ahead and start working on the things you've mentioned and you'll have great sucess turbo'ing later.
You may want to PM MetalJim, he's a moderator on here. He has done extensive fuel work and to my knowledge is not yet turbo'd, but it is his ultimate goal. Good luck man.
