After I started my car up for the first time after installing my star kit, the exhaust mani and dp smoked for a lil while... Its just the metals melting off the shit that I guess is a protectant.. emoji I dunno what its called, but its ok.. let it melt its shit off. Remember that 800* will melt most things so if theres anything on it, it will burn it up. Also, if you dont get it ceramic coated or powder coated, it WILL rust. Mine did, worse thing I did.... didnt get those 2 coated with something BEFOREhand.

What do you think the smoke is from then? It *should* get to about 800*-900* depending on what the weather is like. Smoke is gonna smoke for a while. Mine smoked for a good 20-30 minutes.

I plan on taking mine off eventually and getting them ceramic coated. But I'm telling you, it looks NASTY. Thats why you wont find ANY pics of my engine bay online. Its just god aweful gross. lol

I think there is oil or a coating on it. It burns off after about 10 to 15 minutes. Also with car off make sure you have oil in the turbo line. For some reason mine didn't I removed it while car was on and I had oil then, I can't explain it but I had some kind of air lock in that line.

Yeah that is perfectly normal. It is just buring the rust preventative coating off. I recoment picking up some copper gasket spray and coating the manifold, turbo wiht it.(exhaust side only)

best time so far 14.3 @ 101.1mph(no traction)

my manifold smoked on install
after i sent it out to be powdercoated
after i drilled the egt gauge hole (oiling the tap)
after i spilled motor oil all over the engine being a dumbass
after i sent it out to be trued up when it warped

but i second the notion of getting it powdercoated
my manifold and DP look great two years after they were put on

my turbo right where the oil feed lines though
no powdercoat
rust

so i did the trick listed somewhere about using copper gasket maker and coating it then letting it heat up
once it cooled back down i sprayed it with dei black silicone spray
walla beautiful again and been on for 6 months and its still there

If it's from the outside of the manifold ,turbo,dp,then don't worry about it any time you touch any of those with your hands it transfers oils from your hands on to them also there coated with stuff to keep them from rusting until there installed. Now if its coming out of your tailpipe thats a different story!
