#84212, "DAMN oil problems!"

I keep getting oil to the hot side of the turbo!!! I just got a new housing, so it cant be that. What else could it be? Someone suggested that maybe my return line could be clogging and shooting oil back up it? My dad also mentioned that it could be because my air filter needs to be cleaned/i need a new one? Ugh, i am so frustrated! Its hard to fix something that you have no idea about! Anyone have any ideas? i would REALLY appreciate the help!

If your return line was the problem, you would be getting oil past your seals and white smoke would come out the exhaust. You also might see it drip and you would def. smell it.

It could be leaking a bit from the feed line, but you'd be able to see it if you checked.

Give me more info... Getting oil to the hotside of the turbo makes little sence

I would like to leave the option of it beeing something other than oil, but it has to be because of the fact that it is leaking from the turbo.. right?

Nope thats classic oil getting past the seals. Is it custom turbo setup? Custom oil kit? Check your shaft play.

This has happened to me twice, once because the return line wasnt big enough and the other because my oil feed line was too big. Where is the return line plumbed? Do you have it under the oil line in the pan? Or the shallow part of the pan?

How big should my oil feed/return lines be? My return line is much bigger than my feed line, and my turbo was just rebuilt less than 3 weeks ago. So maybe they balanced it wrong? My dad was saying something about if my Air filter is clogged then maybe that will cause suction as well? is this true???

No, that is not true.

Where is the return line in the pan?
Feed is ~1/4
and return is 1/2 or a little smaller. I ran 1/2 on the 60trim BB because that bitch was huge... lol

Yeah, my feed line is 1/4 and my return line is 3/8. My oil line is tapped on the shallow side of the pan, above where the oil line is. Any other ideas?

Does it smell like burning oil? You say there is clouds of smoke coming out the exhaust...burning oil stinks like all hell, and its really easy to identify..If you can't really smell it, then it's prob not oil..If you take off the downpipe, can you actually see oil on the turbine? If its and external oil leak, then thats not going to cause it to get into the turbine housing..
