I was wondering if I could get some help deciding which turbo would be the best for my setup. Here's what I have. Crower 2's, Head ported and polished, Crower springs and retainers, 8.8:1 JE's with Eagle rods, Ported and polished intake mani, 60mm Throttle body, High flow cat, Magnaflow exhaust, standard size valves. I was thinking I want something that will push 15-20 psi very strong with no lag. I don't need a turbo to be able to go past 20 psi for my needs. Also, I don't know much about what the terms that are used when it comes to turbo's like *trim* and so on, could someone let me know what all of the turbo language means?? Thanks a lot in advance.

I would recommend t3/04 over a s16g. S16g is definitely good for street, but as far as hp goes, when you to make over 300whp, s16g will loose it's efficiency. I have am s16g and want to upgrade to 20g because of that.

Ok, so I'm looking at the one in the star kit is a t3/t04b. What's the difference between a t3/t04b and a t3/t04e?? I was looking at them both and notice some numbers being different, so a 50 trim is what I should be looking for. I would like it to be stonger at 15lbs than 20lbs because I probably won't run 20lbs. Thanks for the help so far.

The Garrett GT28RS "Disco Potato" is like the P.I.M.P. turbo! I'll be getting it further down the road, most likely put in on my wifey's Celica GT-S. As for the T3/T04 conversation...the "E" means it's ball bearing, so get that one!

BZZZZZZZT wrong thanks for taking a blind guess and stating it as fact.....(aint that wonderfull!!!)

T3/t4 turbos are hybrid turbos...its a t3 turbine mated to a t4 compressor ...the letter at the end means that the compressor its mated to is one of the following

IN the T4 compressor family there is 2 "generations" that are out there the T04B (60-1, S3, H3 V1/2) and the T04E Generation (which is more efficient 40, 46 50 54 57, 60)

In the Garrett line of turbos the designation for the generation of compressors that replaces the E line is the GT Generation....and even then when you buy a GT series turbo its not nesesarily BB unless R is at the end of it

So a GT30R is a BB turbo

Now you can find T04s and T04e in BB BUT they are offerings from turbonetics........and honestly they arent dual ballbearing (they only replace the journal bearing for a BB type on the compressor side...not the turbine.....meaning they still need a regular thrust bearing....)

if you want a BB turbo ...the ONLY one to buy is a GT series turbo (since it also has the most advanced compressor/turbine blade design...its amazingly efficient)

I'm taking a shot in the dark here, but I want to say the "e" and "b" designations have something to do with the size of the inlet/outlet. This is a very shakey guess, but I'm still learning all this too.

If you don't want lag, look into the GT28R Disco Potato. Do some reading in Google on it. It sounds like a total riot unless you want more than say 350hp out of it. After I play with the turbo I'vepicked out, I think I might go that route for the fun factor and autoX her.
