alright, i recently purchased a small 16g turbo from ebay...i got a good deal on it, but it wasnt what i expected... it has a good amound of shaft play and the exhaust turbine is pretty chewed up.... my 14b has almost NO shaft play and the exhaust turbine is in good shape.... my question/s are: does the 16g have naturally more play in it than the 14b? also how important is the exhaust turbine...i know the intake has a much more intricate design, but if the exhaust turbine is a little chiped and a few are slightly bent, will it be that horrible? next...if i swapped parts between the two, what would i need to take out of the 14b to lessen the shaft play in the 16g...i guess what im saying is what actually goes bad when there is shaft play..the thrust bearing? the bushings? everything?.... ive read up on how to do the rebuild and im a little worried about the balancing part...if i do reuse the shaft from the 14b, would it be balanced, or balanced close enough? thanks...any input would be appreciated

If you take it apart you will need to balance it, especially if you move one wheel to another. If you have bent fins on the turbine from the 16G you should replace the wheel. I don't know if the 14B turbine is the same as the 16G? You might want to check with RRE or buscher racing about the turbines. They are 4g63 whores emoji emoji. Good deal moving up to the 16G you will have to let me know how it pulls. I just recently bought a hahn 16G from someone on the board. I will be installing it soon. Hopefully it give me a good amount more kick than the 14b. emoji I also ordered a longrod kit from howell in a .04 over trim pistons emoji. Anyway Im rambling now.... Contact RRE or Buscher and they will know the best course of action about the 16G. I believe that those rebuild kits for the 14b-16g are around 100$, add on another 40 or so for the balance job.
