#83980, "cooling mist water injection installed"

I finally got my water injection kit installed. So far I am pretty impressed. I am using plain distilled water to start with and will try an alcohol mix later.

I have install pics posted in the tech articles on dsmtuners in case anyone is interested in checking them out.

If anyone has any questions about the kit hit me up. I am more than happy to talk.

I have an RS so i didnt have the rear washer reservoir tank, I bought one from the junkyard for 10 bucks and put it in the back and ran a line through a plugged hole in the spare tire well up to the front in between my radiator and fmic and made a Y so it split in 2 ran those to the small holes in the upper lip of the front opening in the bumper and put misters there, You cant even see them unles you get down eye level with the fmic.

edit: NM i didnt click the link first I thought he had a intercooler mister, cool setup, let us know if it helped any and the differences between plain water and an alcohol mixture.

it was 300 for the basic kit and all of the upgrades to the door

i have seen the DIY out there but i am just not creative enough to make something work and then install it

and yes JB weld should be in the dash of every single 2gnt owners out there

i did a 60/40 split water denatured alcohol today

one big thing that i noticed is that before you could feel the car retard timing at high boost and the engine would almost feel like let off the gas

now it is a much smoother rpm climb

i must get this thing on the dyno
soon or i am going to go crazy wondering how much good it really does

only way i can describe it, is how your car feels on a cold night

edit: watch your timing at WOT with no spray, then turn it on and do it again

water injection, it sprays a fine mist of water into the intake and is effectively 'in-cylinder intercooling'

google it, because i dont feel like typing for 3 weeks :-P

or search, ive posted a lot on it in the past

extreme high performance drag cars, ie. funny cars, using this type of cooling instead of an intercooler. Extremely effective and I highly recommend it. I don't have one yet, but I will be hooking my own up after I get my crotch rocket.

so i logged a 3rd gear pull today with the water kit turned on

at WOT 10psi of boost and 6000 rpms my air intake temp was 91 degrees
and timing was 15 degrees

before the water kicked in at around 4000 rpms the air intake temp was 127 degrees and the timing was at 10 degrees

i dont know a lot about where the timing should be
so are those decent numbers

Timing doesnt sound right for some reason...Timing at WOT should be around 17 degrees, then slowly climb up to around 20 at redline. 10 degress does not sound right at all..

maybe because i didnt do a full pull

i had to let off on it at 6k and not redline
because i was on the highway and i was starting to go a little fast

i'll try to do a 3rd gear to redline pull and see what happens
