#83705, "75 shot in the 1/4"

ok this summer i'm looking to bump up from a 50 shot to a 75 shot, i have a AEM CAI, HKS-SAFR, headers, test pipe and 3" catback. Now i know there aare alot of variables in running the 1/4mile i was just wondering what some cars witha similar setup running a 75shot have done in the 1/4mile. thanks

You'd run a high 14 sec pass I bet.

You'll run between 5 seconds and 2 minutes. All depends on tuning

Red 97 Eclipse GS (420a) MTX
Custom Garrett T3 Turbo system
Megasquirt w/52 lb/hr injectors & a Walbro 255
Kicker/Alpine Audio (3 amps, 2 subs)
90 Cav 2.2 TBI auto (winter) <- yeah, it's fast

Unless you can retard the timing, I wouldn't do it. If you can't read your spark plugs, and I mean able to look at a plug and know you had some detonation/pre-ignition, then I wouldn't do it.

What'd you run with the 50 shot? Take that time and subtract about .15 to .2 off of it and that'd be a rough estimate.

I ran 1 run with a 75 shot and looked at my plugs to find it was too much for it with the timing it was running at. I went down one pill on the nitrous side and it was okay from there.

I ran high 14s with a 50 shot wet, that's with an AEM intake, Sebring muffler, and Hotshot headers. That's on stock 14 with traction problems of course in 1st

Mid 14s if you're a driver. My boy had a 4 door neon that went low 14s on street tires with a UDP, CAI, Lightened flywheel, and a 75 shot.

Alright. This thread has been editted because people are stupid. I'm getting pretty tired of BS being posted in someone elses thread. Nothing constructive to say ... don't say anything then. If you want to get the message across that

1. You won't know how much a 75 shot is going to help you in 1/4 until you try it.
2. Every motor is in different condition. A healthy motor with a 75 shot will yeild different results as a beat down motor with a 75 shot.
3. Depends on the tune (rich / lean)

Then thats what you should say. It's constructive. "Gawd damn these stupid posts" is useless and a waste of space.

And lastly on the topic of seniority. Knowledge talks. I don't give a rats ass if you've been here 4 years or 4 seconds. You know what you're talking about you get should get the respect you deserve that comes along with actually knowing what you're talking about.

I think the original question has been answered. Thread Locked.
