#83371, "those who have modded the wastegate with the spring to lower boost"

I am currently working on a turbo set up. I am using a T-25, which comes internally gated at 10psi from the factory. I only want to run say 6-7psi. I know of the mod that is done to the actuator arm. For those of you that have done this, have you ever had any problems with the wastegate sticking open or closed or any other issues?

Thanks
Dan

Can you just get a boost controller and just lower the psi.

I dont think boost controllers can lower psi. Most just trick the wastegate, telling it that its running lower psi than actually is.

I wish you a smooth break-in and happy driving.

Thats right. A boost controller will let you raise the boost only.

I haven't messed with modifying a WG to lower the boost, but if I did I would probably do it like this -http://www.denverspeed.com/wastegates.html

I had thought about doing this a while ago for myself, but then I rebuilt the motor so I built a boost controller instead. emoji

Oh I thought the boost controller would allow to lower and raise boost. Well I learned something new. Thanks for the info.
