theres no such thing as the "right" amount of ignition timing, or the right AF for a given boost pressure. its all about making the most power out of what you're using and not detonating. the "right" amount of ignition timing is getting as close to the line as you can, water injection pushes that line farther than you might think. MURDERS detonation, and coincidentally the leading cause of blown turbo engines is detonation...hmmm...

most water injection systems arent entirely water, like mine for example is 60% denatured alcohol. thats what bumps up the octane.

ok so here you are on the freeway with 91 octane in the tank and johnny 350z wants a peice but you cant give him your 20psi because you didnt pick up your 5 bucks a gallon 100 octane. bummer, you just got smoked. now, for me i just click on the water injection pump, click over to high boost and lay the law down and not even remotely worry about detonation. now thats fuckin sweet.
you obviously are on the other side of the fence here, which is fine. but im speaking from experience as to how well it works. i live in california with shit ass 91 octane at the pump. i have a smic and can easily run 20psi on pump gas and no knock, so i mean,...if the shoe fits...fuckin wear it!
