#82754, "If you know your shiz about Tial WG's look at this and help!!"

Ive added this diagram from Tial's site. The problem Im having is Im hittn like 15psi and could keep going if I let it. I want to max at 10psi. Now here are the only 2 problems I can think of.

1. They put too big of a spring in the WG. I had it apart and I think its the large green, but I dont know what the small green one looks like.
2. According to this diagram, I have my air lines hooked up wrong. I have the bottom part of the WG hooked to the mbc and the other line line leaving the pressure side of the mbc to the pressure side of the turbo.

I just found the box it came in and it says it has a .5 bar spring in it. Does this mean I have this hooked up wrong? Do I need to hook it up like it is in the diagram? Please gimme some insight!!

Thats fine, when its on the turbo, its still considered a vacuum line.

So what are you saying? I have it hooked up right, so it must be the spring?

I have a Tial. Took it apart and it was green as well. Mine's a 6-8 psi spring. I forget. Only thing is, they're good for double what they're rated for, why it's beyond me. I was just told this by a buddy. I would HIGHLY recommend hooking it up like the diagram. When I boosted the RS, I made sure that it followed that diagram very strictly. So yeah, fix them around and see how it works.

One more thing, actually 2. You see how it says to hook your line/lines up before the throttle body? Should I try it like that? Then it shows in the diagram with an MBC hooked up but they both end up in the same line. How do I know which side of the MBC to hook up to which side of the WG?

Well the Tial is very much like the deltagate that comes with the star kit (same design). the side port is the boost port and the top is the vacuum port on the deltagate. running with both ports connected is not necassary, but an option. By running a line from the intake you are getting a more accurate reference to the wastegate. you can run from the compressor housing or intake. however the pressure at the compressor housing may be 1psi higher than the intake due to pressure loss throught the intake pipes. the Manual boost controller is deigned to bleed off pressure from the vac/boost hose to the wastegate and fool the wastegate into thinking the boost is not as high as it is.

I would run a line from the intake or turbo to the side port of the tial. cut a "T" into that line and hook up the manual boost controller to that and vent the boost controlled to atmosphere. Completely close the MBC so it does not bleed off and see what you boost is.

Or you can try the diagram which may be more work and hoses than necassary.

Send me a pm to let me know everything goes ok

Terry

After re-reading your vac line conn...you have then flip flopped which is why you continue to boost. if you flip/flop the lines at the WG then you will be fine.

You have your feed and vaccum lines reversed. This is the problem. Swap the lines on the wastegate and you'll be fine.

---EDIT... ^^^^ YEAH, WHAT HE SAID ABOVE----

Follow Star Turbo Talon's advice. However, since you have your compressor tapped for a vac line, just route all your vac lines to Wastegate, BOV, and boost controller from that line. It's just easier if you ask me. Everything is infront or on the side of the engine, so you can check for leaks and what not.

Yes that is how I did it. Only difference is I had the Greddy Profec B II. I did not continue to boost because WG kicked in and bled off pressure before turbine. Again, your vac lines need swapping.

Ok, I either confused you guys or Im confused. Before I had the bottom port of the WG hooked straight to my intake manifold and the boost still kept rising(I think). Should I hook it up the way the diagram says, before the throttlebody? Im gonna start from scratch. I will take it all out and run a single line from the wastegate to the intake plenum and see if my psi's keep rising.

If they do where do I go from there?

You see, I only have one line hooked at the WG and its on the bottom port.

Ok, all is well. What I ended up doing is running the bottom port to the bottom of the MBC and the top of the MBC to my intake pipe right before the TB. It hit like 13 psi, so I messed with the MBC's fine adjusment and fixed her right up. THanx for all the help guys, I really appreciate it!! emoji
