Does the ECU power turn on and off with the egnition? My battery light is on I have a new optima battery. I ran power for my AVC-R, Turbo timer, and FCD off ecu power is this over kill?

I'd probably run them off of something different. There's switched sources all over the place. The ECU circuit is probably sensative to voltage drops, which is why you might be throwing a battery light. Of course, I threw a light, and it ended up being a loose connection at the battery.
Still, I'd try not to run anything off of the ECU's power. Low voltage situations on the computer might be dangerous.
