#82212, "Time to upgrade my turbo!"

I have the change to get a SC61 for my set-up. But I'm worry that this would be too big turbo for me. My rev limit is 6500rpm and I don't plan to port and polish the head yet. I know that in the future (1 year or so) I will probably do it, but not right now. From the calculations that I have done, a T3/T4OE Super 50trim will be a great turbo for my 3000rpm to 6500rpm power band. The SC61 will be good from 4000rpm to 6500rpm. This is based on a T61 compressor map supplied to me. Also, the deal on the SC61 includes a Tial wastegate. What should I do?

go big or go home.

I've felt 26 psi through a t61 AFTER 4500rpm in a 9000rpm FD-3.

for that 4K it was like i had 5g's puching on my skull.

wowzers.

Although, i DOOO like NO lag. So I like a tubo more suited to a 2500-6000 rpm range.

I have made my mind, I will go with the SC61. I will have a bit of turbo lag, but that is OK. I don't want to change to a bigger turbo later on. And for the price including an external wastegate, is a great deal. I will try to post some picture when I'm done.
