#82157, "SRT-4 manifold"

yeah I searched and didn't find anything about the manifold.. lots about the motor I guess.
but anyway one has come up for sale locally, manifold + turbo for a decent price, no miles on it basically (<5000km) and since it's off a 420A I figure it will still fit. it looks like it would place the turbo really really close to the radiator but it also is oriented very nicely and would make for easy routing of the charge pipes and whatnot. he also mentioned that he has done turbo sebrings & one avenger with the SRT mani
so, will this work? will I have to mess with my radiator? or should I just screw the whole idea?

ummmm.....doesn't the SRT4 exhaust mani come out the back?and the turbo mounts off to the right a bit?

edit: it does have the intake on the front/exhaust on the back, like a SOHC.

i think if the runners lined up and the bolts all lined up you'd have a turby toooo far to the left?

HOw much for the turby and manifold? i'd just get a mani built for our cars.

it does come off the back.. on the SRT-4. I was just checking to see if bolting it up to our head would still work. I asked him if I could come by some day and we get a test fit done, so I'll see what he says to that. it would be far off to the left, yes, but then I could do a really short hot pipe to the intercooler, it's pretty close to the stock exhaust route for the exhaust, and everything would be working very logically from left to right instead of having to go left and then come back around to try and get to the intake side. it was $800 for the mani and the turbo, but some negotiation should get that down to a more reasonable price.

I'm pretty sure that the manifold and turbo are one piece so you couldn't seperate them if you wanted to use one or the other.

It also won't fit - the bolt pattern is completely different.

why spend 800 of that. an alain mani w/t3 flange is like 250-300, and then you can easily get a t3 for 400.

waaay. better......imo

$800 would have been a rape!

They go for less then half that on SRT forums.

Why not just go with an HRC manifold and 16G. HRC used to sell them for $899 I think.

in quebec they sell for around $600 canadian in average

since they bolt on the old neon dohc head and we share the same pattern they will probably bolt on the 420a head with minor grinding because of the shape of the thermostat housing

the turbocharger will probably touch the upper radiator hose
you charge hose will have to exit to the intecooler from the passenger side you will need a cross flow intercooler

it should be interesting to see that as a project

if he'll move on the price I just might try... there is also a T-28 from a R34 GT-R for sale locally, though, for a lot less money so I might just go the tried, tested and true way of getting an alain mani.

I was under the impression that the SRT used the newer PT-style bolt pattern.

it does but the new pt pattern has 10 bolts and 8 bolts use the same positions as before also the exhaust ports are off by 1/8 of an inch
a little porting on the srt manifold and you are dead on but most don't even care and use it as is
