#8119, "CAI for the turbo...."

I finally got back to school, and in the process of cleaning the apartment from last year I found my old short ram intake.
I decided to mount it on the turbo and let it hang down in front of the tranny to see if it made a difference..

Well after driving the car pretty hard for 15 minutes, the EGTs were on average close to 200 degrees cooler, and my wheels spun through most of second gear. There was also that nice roar that I haven't heard since I took the intake off in April.

So I suggest everyone who hasn't yet, to go out and get/fabricate/buy/make a cold air extension for your turbo.

I'm going to the track tonight to see what 60 degree weather and no muffler will give me emoji (hopefully my thermal shows up so I won't need to go with no exhaust)

Cool someone else other than me has that same mod. Except Im using a DC sports short ram from a Honda. My friend had it in his trunk and decided to try it on my turbo to see what it does. Luckly it doesnt say DC Sports on it at all. Well, spool up improved big time. I can now hear my BOV neutral reving it and I have that evil growl. The growl fools a lot of people into thinking its NA when I keep the BOV from going off. I too recommend everyone to do this mod if you havent already.

u mean like this?

I've had this ever since I installed the turbo. I might have to take it off when I install the intercooler though. I think it helps a little, not a lot though, the intake pipe still gets hot, but on cold days it's pretty cool. When I get the intercooler though I'll leave it if it still fits, but if not I'll just stick the HKS mushroom in the engine bay.
