I recently bought an automatic 99 gs with 50,000 miles on it and it is in perfect running conditions. I want to put a star stage 2 turbo kit on it and I was wondering if it would be safe to put it on. I would only run it on the boost setting it comes with which I think is 7 psi. I don’t want to work on internals or anything else, I just want to put the turbo and that's it, also an exhaust system any recommendations? Would the turbo kill the life of the engine a lot? And are there any other things I should get other than gauges to make the kit more reliable like maybe an S-afc? Also is it true that I have to remove my fog lights so the fmic piping can fit? Thanks

Before you get flamed use the Search! Most likely this thread will get 10+ replies flaming you anyway.
Your bigest question is "Will a turbo hurt my engine?". The answer is yes. It will blow it up. It may not happen for 10000000000 miles or it could happen right after you put the kit on, but it will blow up.

Actually I did search and found that there are quite a few autos with a turbo. And my biggest question really is will the car run good with just a turbo and no internal work provided that I get some good tuning? I guess I didn't express my self rightin my first post. Also what other things should I get? My friend says I should get a S-afc, is that a good idea? And does anyone know if I'll be able to keep my fog lights? Thanks

You could get a SAFC but finding out how it is to be hooked up is another question. They are really made for turbo cars, not converted turbo cars. Plus if you don't know how to use it you'll blow your motor. I was told with my star kit since we have a map bypass (i use missing link) that I could not use my SAFC. No one in the forums could really answer how it is to be hooked-up and set without blowing the motor. I say stock motor...use kit as it was built for the car. I bought my stars kit for my automatic and I think the only parts I'm using from the kit are the manifold,turbo, and piping everything else I replaced. Plus down pipe needs a flex section.
things I upgraded: Greddy type RS bov Tial wastegate missing link oil return line braided, AN fittings Weld fitting (oil pan) flex pipe (down pipe) hi- flow cat egr block-off with resistor 2nd o2 sensor bypass Jet Hot coated all black piping and manifold

It'll eventually blow up. I have the greddy evo cat back with a test pipe, I really like that exhaust. If you use the FMIC piping from the star kit then yes you'll have to get rid of the foglights because the piping goes right over where the driver side foglight mounts.
