The first thing that I would like to say is the customer service at Hahn Racecraft is very good. I ordered my kit before Christmas and received it yesterday (about a 3 week time frame but probably less since it was around the holidays and vacations) with every single part being correct.
I've seen many posts where people bash them but I have yet to any problems. People should form there own opinions before jumping on the bandwagon. It also helps to be educated about the product you are buying before calling them saying I want a portfueler. If that is all you say you will probably receive the Portfueler Mounting Kit and that is it. Obviously there are more parts to this system but this is their Stage IV fuel system and everything over a stage II turbo kit seems to be made to be customized (allowing you to drop or add parts from the kit). A buyer needs to specify what parts he/she needs. For those interested in ordering a Portfueler system, here is a part list for a full kit:
-Portfueler Mounting Kit (includes the injector space and fuel rail) -Portfueler Control Module (Split Second Injector Controller) -Autometer Tach Adapter (if you do not have a aftermarket ignition) -Aeromotive 1:1 Fuel Regulator -Fuel System Fittings (includes all hardware and fuel hose) -Injectors (415 cc/min High Impedence Injectors) -Base Map Program from Hahn (don't have to, I think it is a good start) -Software to calibrate module yourself (Optional)
My main question is regarding the electrical connections for the Portfueler system. The instructions say to hook the Injector Controller and Tach Adapter to a switched power source like the heater or radio using a fuse tap. I would feel more comfortable soldering the connections rather than using a fuse tap. What sources have people used for power that currently have the kit (wire color you tapped in to, location, etc)? Also, I would like to put an inline fuse in the power wire - does anyone know what type of power these modules draw (amps)?
My last question is what wire has to be tapped on the ignition for an rpm signal to the Autometer take adapter (if haven't finished reading all the instructions - not sure if it mentions it). Wire color? Location?

I'm still not sure why they're including the tach adapter. I discussed this with Bill after the 2004 SO.. there's a real tach signal wire available in the harness. HRC's using one of the coil triggers and a tach adapter to turn the 2-cyl coil trigger signal into a 4cyl tach signal, which should be unnecessary.

I had two questions:
1) Better way of tapping for 12V switched power rather than a fuse tap in the fuse box? If so what wire (color)? I feel safer with a soldered connection. Any recommendations for an inline fuse (any one know what the amp draw on the portfueler module and tach adapter)?
2) Where is the signal wire for the tach adapter in the harness? (wire color)

black wire / white stripe at the ECU harness is what i'd use. it's switched and has power while cranking. I'd start with a 20A fuse on it and work up if it pops.

I think it goes on a coil trigger.. wich would be wire 1 or 3 on your coil pack harness..... but you might wanna double check the instructions for that.

Thank you. That's the kind of help I was looking for.
I apologize if I stepped on anyone's toes with my initial post. I have never received bad service from Hahn and always wonder if some people just complain for no reason. I'd hate to see one of the very few companies that develops custom products for our car disappear.
I'm sure every company makes a mistake once in a while during the shipping process but it is how they handle the return that counts the most to me (no hassle credits, etc).
If anyone has hooked up the portfueler a different way, please post how you have it connected and why you did it that way.

I created a relay box for everything in my car. All my gauges, boost controller and port fueler run from this relay box. I have two 40amp relays in a box with all the electrical connetions. When I turn the car on, the relays kick on and everything is supplied with power straight from the battery.
