I was wondering if running my current stock stage 1 hahn fuel setup would be a bad idea considering where I live the temps fluctuate between like 32 degrees and -20 degrees. I've heard of rising rate regulators can freeze up and what not I could be wrong but I remembering people saying this. I was thinking about just picking up a header, blocking the oil feed and drain, fabbing a make shift intake until spring. Or am I just being paranoid?

This is my third winter w/my hahn stage 2 with stock internals. The only upgrade I've done is a bigger in tank fuel pump. Still have the Craptech regulator and my fuel pressures haven't fluctuated. I live in Racine, WI. It gets fricken COLD here.

Its only good to a point, and colder weather will cause you to run leaner.

Yeah I bought the car with the kit installed and it had been running for a year with it already so I'm about 4 years on stock internals now. I'm contemplating selling my car or rebuilding this summer. I've also always have had enough money just in case something happens. I'm running about 9psi (7-8 after the IC). But I DO NOT push my car. I rarely floor it and when I do it's just when passing and I've only been to the track once, I also always keep an eye on my fuel pressures. I've only had to adjust the regulator a few times a year to keep it running correctly.

How does that work? Colder air means more O2 per unit volume, but doesn't the IAT recognize that and throw more fuel to compensate? I would think over time, you'd use more fuel since every time the injector fires, it's throwing more fuel since the air is denser. So the car uses more fuel, but each combustion event is still stoich. Not trying to sound smart, just really wondering.

Yes but the iat isn't magic. It only can compensate within in 25% of your fuel trims. I believe at 20 below may require additional tuning outside of my stft and ltft. I don't know for sure cause my car is still at exile but as soon as I get it back I guess I'll just datalog to see were they are just keep an eye on em.

Yeah, the IAT will compensate SOME. BUT you get to a point where it wont compensate any further, leading to a more lean condition. Even on my 8 inj setup, I have to retune for colder weather because it the setup still uses the stock IAT. Thats one of the downfalls of my setup, as well as not having spark control.

Thats why a lot of people that were/are using the 8 inj setup still/are wanting to go to the Megasquirt.
