I'm about to place an order with HRC. I just want some extra performance, so I'm only going with a stage 1 HRC turbo kit. But, I have stock internals. I plan on using it mainly for extra low-end performance and don't plan on taking it to the track or anything. I just wanna spank some Hondas on the street heh heh! Is my engine going to be able to handle this? Hope I can get some feedback, thanks!

first off, what condition is your engine in right now? Do a compression test see where your at. Everthing look good? Install the kit, keep it at 5psi and enjoy the rid emoji

P.S. you'll get to a track sooner or later, the curiosity of what your running is gonna get the better of yo emoji

LAST EDITED ON 07-Sep-01 AT 09:11 PM (PST)

DSM1,

Got the car with 30,000 miles and it now has 53,000. But I have used nothing but Castrol Syntec, and premium gas, and I use engine cleaner every few months. I would sure hope that this has kept my engine in great shape.
By the way, do you really notice a difference with a ported throttle body?
Thanks!
P.S. Your ride is pretty damn sweet

I don't think you should be using premium gas. Our cars are ment to be ran on just regular, as we run pretty rich as it is. But I'm no expert. Maybe someone can clarrify this issue.

no more 420A

only 4G63

running premium gas will not do any harm or get the car running rich. octane rating is a measurement for the resistance to detonation, not the amount of gas thats packed in. but I dont think it'll do you anygood since our stock engines wont take advantage of the premium gas...sorry if this sounded like a lecture

In the name of longevity you still want an intercooler somewhere down the line. The cooler charge of an intercooled system is a safety feature as well as a perfomance feature.

I'm with you on that one. Get an intercooler and run 6psi boost. I've been doing this for a year and my engine is still in perfect shape...no leaks, no blow by, perfect compression. I've never been to the track...I just love jetting around town/interstate. Watching honda guys drool over the intercooler will never get old.

wouldn't a turbo not help your low end power?? i thought turbos helped top end power . even at stage 1 it would kick in at just over 3 g's to give that mid range to high end torque
